Q: When should I book in for my Newborn shoot?
A: We would recommend getting in touch about 3-4 weeks before your due date in order to book your shoot for some time within the first 10 days to two weeks after the baby arrives.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: What’s the ideal time to have my Newborn photographed?
A: I like to capture little ones when they are between 5 &10 days old. This is when they are most sleepy and can be easily positioned into the gorgeous poses that you would have seen on my Newborn gallery. However, if your baby is already past this stage, it’s not too late, I photograph babies of all ages.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: What should I bring for my baby?
A: I like to keep things really simple. I encourage parents to bring along a couple of white babygro’s & vests to begin with. But there is nothing more adorable than just your baby’s skin, which is why I photograph them without clothes. There is no fear of baby getting cold as I keep the studio nice and warm so that your baby feels comfortable and cozy. If you have any items that have special or sentimental meanings, such as blankets or teddy bears, please feel free to bring them along.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: Can I bring my babies siblings to the shoot?
A: Absolutely! I would always encourage both parents and siblings to attend the shoot. This is a great opportunity to get a family portrait of everyone together at this very special time. These portraits are taken at the beginning of the session when we have everyone’s full attention.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: What should I wear?
A: The most important thing is that you are comfortable with what you are wearing. I like to keep my portraits looking timeless so I would recommend wearing simple, neutral colours. Smart casual always works best. Please try to avoid heavily patterned items of clothing or anything with logos. This also applies for siblings.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: How long does the session last?
A: I would always put aside at least 2 hours for a Newborn shoot. Newborn babies can be very unpredictable. While they love to sleep, they will most likely want a feed, a nappy change or some cuddles during their time at the studio. Your baby is the boss on the day so we will take as many breaks as they need to ensure they are completely comfortable.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: Where are the sessions held?
A: All of my Newborn shoots are held in the comfort of my cosy studio in Fashion City, Ballymount. During the shoot all you need to do is relax with a nice cup of tea, read a magazine and leave the rest up to me. With over ten years experience, your baby will be in very safe hands.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: How do I view my photos?
A: Your images will be ready to view approximately 10 days to 2 weeks after your shoot. You will be invited back to the studio where you can view your images for the first time on a large screen in the comfort of our viewing room. This will also be the time to place your order.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: How do I receive my photos?
A: Everything from the portrait studio comes as a fully finished printed image finished in either a custom frame, block mount, glass block or photo album. Your finished portraits will be ready for collection approx 3 weeks from the time of order.Jenny McCarthy.
Q: Can I purchase digital copies of my images?
A: Unfortunately not. All images from the studio as issued as finished printed pieces. We do not issue or sell any digital images from portrait shoots. All images are kept on file, should you wish to order any more images in the future.Jenny McCarthy.
